Testimonials

I have been studying John F. Barnes MFR since 1989, and practicing it myself with my patients regularly since 1995, and in that time I have experienced treatment myself many, many times. The times that Tara has treated me are among the most healing that I have ever experienced. Of all of the practitioners who have treated me, including John Barnes, I would place Tara Carrington at the top of the list of masters in facilitating healing along with John F. Barnes himself. Just last year I fell and hit my head, and suffered a concussion, along with a herniated disc in my neck. Tara treated me afterwards, and under her guidance and skill, I was able to release much of the energy of the impact of my injury, and with her healing hands, I was able to reduce my neck pain and I felt so much more like myself. Her skill and her soft and loving energy will invite your immediate trust. I recommend her without hesitation.

Tara Carrington is simply one of the best therapist/ body workers I have ever met. Her presence and ability to connect with the people she’s working with is on another level. As a body worker myself and knowing Tara for over a decade, I strive to hold the presence she has. She has been one of the most influential people in the way I work. She guides us into our own authenticity, into our heart, and into our personal power. I am forever grateful to her and am always excited to learn more from her.

Being mentored by Tara has been a huge benefit for my practice as a myofascial release therapist, and in my personal life. Learning to connect most deeply to myself, to quiet the internal chatter and truly listen and be completely present…that is the most beautiful skill I have received from Tara, and the best gift I can offer to my clients. Communication through pure presence is essential to true healing. I can’t wait to take advantage of her course!

Tara is an incredibly gifted healer. Though she has a high level of technical knowledge and skill, what distinguishes her is the depth of her personal understanding, empathy, and caring.

Tara has been an important influence in my career as a John Barnes specialized physical therapist and entrepreneur in my cash-based practice. She has inspired me to be intuitive, creative, and to have confidence in myself as a practitioner. When treating, quiet your mind and be curious. I have grown so much in the past few years following these recommendations. Thank you Tara for your dedication to this work and your guidance. Your love for this work is truly inspiring.

Tara is a genuinely caring, warm and compassionate person. Years ago she gave me the little nudge that helped me to take my first John F. Barnes class. The little nudge that started an avalanche and changed my life. It has been with her encouragement and guidance that I have continued to take and repeat classes as well as attend as many of her study groups as possible.

She leads by example and it’s with great joy that she shares what she learns on her own journey of healing. She shares all of this while constantly evaluating her own intentions to make sure she is teaching with honesty and integrity. Tara also brings another unique gift which is the ability to mix John F. Barnes teachings with her own experiences and vulnerability. She offers it all to us and it is why she is one of the most significant people in both my personal and my professional MFR journey. I cherish all the time I have spent with her as a patient, a therapist and a student. I feel blessed to consider her one of my best mentors and my friend.

She is a contagiously beautiful person, I’m a better person for having her in my life and I think the whole community here is better because of what she does to preserve its authenticity.

Tara, You’ve taught me MFR moves everything softly...it has moved me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.I perceive myself now.My posture and alignment have improved dramatically from your MFR treatments and the exercises you’ve given me.My stride is much more comfortable and free from both your MFR and the techniques and form you’ve taught me.From MFR my sacrum no longer hurts as it did chronically. Our work goes way beyond the physical. The sessions are so deep that any part of my spirit that was not with me returns during our sessions...gently. A state of samadhi is achieved.Your thoughts on life have helped me integrate this soft gentle MFR approach in my emotions and with my relationships. Thank you

In a world that is so desperate for authenticity, Tara is the Beacon of Hope. I personally and professionally would not be where I am today without her guidance and unwavering love. As healthcare providers, healers and humans, we are drawn to this work to make connections and help others. But that isn’t something you memorize from a schoolbook or learn from a company’s mission statement. Connecting with others capable of this is the only way.

I was fortunate enough to spend time with Tara as a client and as a practitioner to continually develop the art and subtlety of caring both for myself and my clients. It goes far beyond a therapy technique or hand placement and is sometimes conveyed in a look, a sound or a soft touch. Being present is more than a concept, it is a way of life. And Tara brought me to a place where that was possible. Only through healing yourself can you help others to heal and Tara has a way of helping everyone to understand that in a simple and authentic way.

The fundamental act of connection has gotten lost from healthcare, so often we are treated as a number or like cattle. But there is a way to come back to it. The process of achieving a higher level of awareness and compassion can happen, and intuitive presence is within you. With Tara’s teaching, enlightenment and mindfulness you can find yours.
